Money20/20
is seeking a Fintech expert with outstanding relationships across the Fintech industry in China to lead the Content programme in line with Money20/20’s unique global content strategy.

Purpose:

The Head of Sales role will be critical to deliver the launch event and drive growth for subsequent events with following purposes:

  • build and develop a new team and
  • identify and work with sales partners in China and
  • carry and deliver a personal sales target

Key responsibilities:
  • Immediately carry a target to deliver key exhibition, sponsor and attendee clients and quickly bring in key contracts
  • Set up a compact and high-quality new sales team by identifying high performing sales people who can sell premium products to value
  • Manage the sales team and/or sales partners to sell high value products maintaining yield
  • Target new sponsorship prospects, looking for opportunities in the market and at competitor events
  • Develop creative sales solutions to maximise all possible product inventory at and around the event venue, leveraging all international sales experience in Money20/20
  • Deliver first-class account management of clients such that rebook rate for the event meets international benchmarks
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline through effective relationship building and lead generation
  • Monthly forecast, report sales KPIs and performance management to exceed specified targets and performance objectives
  • Continually to seek sales opportunities to grow a customer spend and nurture relationships for future growth
  • Achieve/exceed personal as well as a team target through motivating, coaching and inspiring the team
  • Contributes to overall sales strategy, tactical plan, targets and phasing and ensures relevant pricing strategies are maintained
  • Acts quickly to maximise revenue opportunity and mitigate potential shortfall
  • Be deeply knowledgeable about market, customers, competitors and products in order to sell creative solutions and deliver exceptional customer value to customers effectively
  • Ensure accurate use and maintenance of the CRM system - Salesforce
  • Work with internal teams e.g. Marketing, Content and Operations, ensuring all activities are considered from a customer’s viewpoint to build strong and lasting customer relationships

Requirements:
  • Ideally 5+ years overall sales experience in China in exhibitions/sponsorship sales
  • Sales leader background ideal with proven track record of excellent yield management
  • Experience in dealing with government relations/officials and senior executives within the industry is essential
  • Excellent ability in understanding and interpreting financial and sales data
  • Considered a sales process expert with excellent pipeline management capabilities
  • Ability to work in a high performing, fast paced environment
  • Experience in sales management and understanding of targeting, incentives
  • Sales and targets driven with a positive ‘can do attitude’ and highly self motivated
  • Excellent communication skills – persuasive, confident and good listening skills
  • Experience presenting and influencing at a senior level
  • Use customer Insight to create compelling customer opportunities
  • Ability to build strong Customer Relationships with key stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and native Mandarin – strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible – must be willing to travel around China
